Hustle

Hustle. Hustle is the evolution of hard work. It's working hard and still doing the little things. To keep the spirit of basketball alive, hustle is diving on the floor, taking a charge or saving that ball from going out of bounds all in effort for just 1 more possession. Because, every possession counts! Hustling is contagious. 

Hustle isn't just showing up for work everyday, it is showing up with the goals and efforts to be the best, to get promoted, and to make your co-workers job easier. Hustle is going beyond the norm or the expected. 

My older brother would always use the term hustle when it came to running his own business. Ironically, he was one of the laziest basketball players ever. This is how I landed on the conclusion that hustle comes with passion. If someone is truly passionate about something, the hustle comes naturally and organically. My brother loved basketball but it wasn't his true passion. He was an entrepreneur through and through, and that showed with pure passion and incredible hustle to succeed. 

My tip for this Friday Blog, find exactly what it is that fuels you. Find that passion, whatever it may be. Don't just dip your toes into it, jump in and never look back. To my players, hustle is the difference between winning or losing a 2 point game. Dive on the floor! Help your teammates up! Out rebound the next guy or girl! Take that charge!
